My toddler has managed to turn the laptop screen upside down - any ideas how to turn it back?!

What model of laptop is it? There are normally function keys that fix it, I'll find it for you online.

Minimise everything until you're back at the desktop with icons on. right click on a clear bit of desktop, and you should get a menu with "graphics properties" on it. In that menu will be an option for rotation - set it back to normal.
All with your mouse working backwrds, of course.

thank you so much Girders...
back to 'normal' now

For future reference(& to save you having to work the mouse upside down/sideways,) pressing the Ctrl Alt & Up arrow keys will also fix this.

my ds did this too - must be some innate skill they have! (although he also managed to remove, and I suspect eat, the tab key).

Lots of little children do it - with toddlers it's usually because they bang their hands down on both sides of the keyboard at once - at the junior school where I'm IT manager, it's usually because they are trying to do Ctrl/Alt/Del when the computer freezes.
If you want to stop it, there's usually an option in the graphics properties Girders mentioned - it depends on your graphics card, but it's normally something like unticking the 'enable Hotkeys' box
