Does anyone use mobile broadband?

A friend is looking into getting this- and a laptop but probably separately. If anyone has any reviews of particular providers that would be vvv helpful!

DH got a dongle on contract with orange as thats who his mobile is with so cheaper than doing them separately, not as fast as at home but very useful. No idea how it compares with others or if they are better in some areas than others.
