Rechargeable batteries - do they actually work?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but, do they?

DD has just had her birthday and has received some battery guzzlers, but the rechargeable batteries I currently use seem to lack a bit of oomph (okay for the remote controls though).

I do have an unbranded charger and random Chinese batteries from eBay - am I being too tight; do I need to invest in quality?

You probably need a better battery.

I'd say you need better quality.
I've used the same batteries in my digital camera for several year with no problems.

its a good idea to have 2 sets...that way you always have a fully chardged set ready to use.

Rechargeables do simply lack 'oomph'. You can run a lot of things off rechargeables, but they won't have enough power for some motorised toys. It sounds like you may have some of those?

What sort of toys are they?
