Really Noddy-level question about deleting messages from Outlook Express

Sorry in advance for my pathetic levels of understanding in relation to all things technical. Love technology btw - not a luddite - just haven't learnt how to lots of things yet ....

Is there any easier/quicker way of getting rid of e-mails from the "Deleted Items" file in Outlook Express rather than highlighting a few at a time and pressing the delete button? Is it possible to delete the contents of the file in one fell swoop?

I thank you!

You can make it delete all emails in 'deleted items' each time you close down OE.

Look in the tools Menu on the Maintenence tab.

IotasCat · 16/10/2008 10:18

change your setting to empty the deleted folder automatically when you close Outlook

Thank you very much for all the - very speedy - replies. Mumsnet is brilliant.

That's a very nifty solution Onager and Iota'sCat ... will go and sort it right now.

Thanks again everyone!
