In the newest version of word how do I insert the file path into a document?

Go to insert/hyperlink. Then on the left hand menu select "existing file" and select the file you want from the drop down menu, and click ok. Should work.

Snickersnack - that kind of works , only I want it to display the path

LL - I have used it in footer, but also in the main body of the text & your method works just fine
