Is it dodgy to use a file retrieval thing that you download for ffree do you think?

Come on must be someone who knows on here how to remedy this - it isn;t even in the recycle bin or rubbish bin or whatever it is called - am getting stressed as keep cocking things up and it keeps costing DH money and he is going to flip soon!

Rather than picking something from a Google search you would be better looking on somewhere like www.download.com and seeing what tools are there and how other uses have rated them.
That way you avoid viruses.

By audio file do you mean the drivers? If so you may have a driver CD and can reinstall them.
Can you post the exact message you got when the problem occurs.

'file retrieval' is a tricky business. Even if you find a program the original file has likely been overwritten by now. You really need to have a program like that already installed and to use it at once.

Do you have a system restore?

Then all you have to do is go back to a date you hadn't removed it on, but anything new you've added will be gone.
