I want to transer my videos from mini dv camcorder to my computer. I do not have a firewire port, only usb ports. My pc is a Dell Dimension 3000. How can I get the movies onto my computer?

My camcorder, a very old Panasonci NV-DS30B does not have any computer cables or software but does have a dv in/out thingy.

Can ANYONE help me?

I think you need to buy a firewire card for the PC. They are probably quite cheap now. I'm not sure where you replace the cable from Camcorder to PC/firewire. Though it may be a standard one.

I'm going to purchase a pci card for my pc and a firewire cable and take it from there.
