IS SOMEONE ELSE USING MY BROADBAND???!!!

I have this McAfee thing on my laptop. I have wireless broadband. Today it flashed up with a network overview and howed my computer then ANOTHER one called 'thomson' connected to my network . It asked if I wanted to mark it as a 'friend' or an 'intruder' so I marked it as an intruder. It said it would inform me when the 'intruder' connects.

Just now it flashed up saying the intruder has connected but I can't see any option to stop them connecting.

I think this is whats happening anyway, unless i'm being think and it means something else?

I'm if this is happening caus emy connection was really slow this morning and I had an email a while ago to say I had gone over my limit, I'm not paying for someone else to use my connection!!!

Help!

Hi, I've just checked, and mine has "Network" then under that the PCs and also Thomson, so I think it's normal. HTH!

I think the 'Thomson' is the USB port on the back of your hub.

Meaning that if you were to attach a USB device into the back of the hub, that is where the files would appear or, in the case of a printer, it will enable it to be served by the network.

HTH

I found this unofficial guide to the BT Home Hub which shows how to connect to the hub's administration pages and a lot more besides.
