I don't know how to do links

I need a new pc and was going to try a laptop - problem is I really don't know what to go for. Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated.

I don't want to spend more that £400 - £500

many thanks

It's okay. Depends what you want to use it for. Personally I'd be inclined to go for an Apple but I'm a mac person. Remember that this laptop comes with no useful software like office (but you can get omnio office free and that works the same or use Google docs).

Hang on a tick I'll have a looksee at a few others and post links for you

Thank you whomoved

I would love an apple but thought they were much more expensive.

Dells are good generally. I considered that one a few months ago and in the end decided to go for another Dell with a higher spec (I work in IT), but it might be good enough for your requirements. What are you going to use if for?

Trix11 · 20/08/2008 12:14

Just basic things really - store photos, download music. I would like one thats fast but I guess thats more to do with the internet connection - isn't it?

Do I need a 2gb opposed to a 1gb ??

2gb is faster than 1gb, so if you can afford it, go for it.

If it is running Vista instead of XP (most new ones will be now) you do really need 2Gb, or it'll be horribly slow.
