Last night I installed the new Norton update and, as it was late and the last instruction was to restart the PC, I hit restart and went to bed (I know, very un-ecological) knowing that the machine would restart and then switch itself off after a while.
However this morning it says 'Logging off' and has been saying so for about an hour. I have don contl alt delete, unlugged it, swtiched off with the power button at the top etc. HELLP!. I can just about access MN on my old machien but can't do anything much else.

Thanks, that's what DS dad did when he came round and it has worked...
Now I have to work out if the 'norton update' I installed was some sort of farking malware... as it seems to have eaten my Norton.
