my broken hearted ds needs your help

my ds recently downloaded AIM (AOL instant messaging) so he can talk to some of his xbox live mates.
BUT for some reason it won't let him sign it, he has an account, he has tried all the troubleshooting, tried turning of his firewall.
Any ideas for a sad broken hearted lad>>>

PUT THE FIREWALL BACK ON!!!

Have you tried allowing pop ups?

This is what the problem is:
whenever i try to sign in it will say it's connecting the imediately go back to the sign in screen with "Conection Failed" in red at the top.

I have tried the auto cofigure thing too

have you tried uninstalling and starting all over again? Put firewall back on, though.

Hi Ds. I'm assuming your connection is OK if you are talking to me. Perhapse the site is down at the moment. Hotmail/MSN messanger works well. Could you use this instead?

Do you have an AOL account or just an AIM one?

Reinstall Messenger and restart PC would be first thing I'd do hope this helps

I turned the firewall back on

i have a MSN but i got a AIM to talk to my friends that don't have an msn

i do not know how to allow pop ups

no i havn't but i am also increddibley lazy

think its quite a common problem see here try googling AIM connection failed

I'd try setting up msn messenger or yahoo messenger and seeing if that works.

ok, you need to report the bug then as per my link.

can he access the internet on it otherwise? are you trying to install in wirelesly? maybe connect it with the earthnet wire first and then install it wirelessly. I had to do this with my wii.

sorry we have been off to have his ear chcked at the hospital, will get him to come back to the thread(I have no idea what he is talking about)
