mp3 players - any recommendations?

I used to have a creative labs one and was happy with it. I'd like a new MP3 player and would like to know which ones you'd recommend... if it could play videos it's a bonus but not an absolute necessity.

For portability as the key feature:
Budget: Creative Zen Stone Plus(4 GB) £40
Mid Range: iPod Nano (3rd Gen, 8 GB) £120
Top Range: iPod Touch (8, 16 or 32 GB) £170-£300

If you want something with LOTS of storage then you need to go with a Hard Disk based player and the iRiver players are good value if you don't want to buy an iPod Classic.

Obviously this is just my personal opinion and I just bought the iPod Nano as budgets won't stretch to the Touch right now. I also own an old, old, old 40GB iRiver that is still going strong (but is too weighty for pocket usage).

ipod - lovely to look at and fantastic to use.
