Despite telling MIL that I don't know fuck all about computers, because i once fixed something on her PC I'm apparently teh All-Knowing when it comes to PCs

I'm not though

Basically, she wants a new laptop and wnats to know if this laptop is a good deal.

Pleeeeeeeeeease advise! She will use it for internet connection, watching DVDs and probably fannying around with photographs

TIA

dh says it sounds good apart from the processor which is a bit on the slow side

MamaG · 23/06/2008 21:10

What does that mean, in idiot-proof terms ecmo? Please thank Mr Ecmo!

oh no sorry read the wrong number

StripySails · 23/06/2008 21:10

No expert on these things myself but noticed it said "no audio features". If that means it has no sound then probably not a good choice for watching dvds
However like I say I'm no expert so "no audio features" probably means something completely different in geek-land.

Ecmo · 23/06/2008 21:10

processor is fine and it all sounds good!

AllieBongo · 23/06/2008 21:11

I think it would be much more fun if you stabbed her in the eye

MamaG · 23/06/2008 21:13

so do I allieb, but it may cause ructions in the faaamily

So Mr E says fien - waht about the no audio?

dh has now looked probably after my useless information relaying and says is a good basic computer as long as you don't want it for playing lots of games on (quite basic graphics card)

MamaG · 23/06/2008 21:16

Oh no I shouldn't think she'll be playing games. Will relay, thank you

dont think the audio bit means no sound as it comes with a DVD player that would be silly. Never heard of one with no sound. It probably means its got no connection for external audio devices

MamaG · 23/06/2008 21:23

Ahh yes that makes sense!
