Deleted the sound software? Please help - ds moping

Morning of doom here in VW-ville!
Amongst other things, DH appears to have deleted the Realtek sound software from DS's computer whilst cleaning it up a bit. To compensate for no sound, DS now listening to ringtones instead and driving me mad.
Any ideas how I can restore this?

I don't suppose you got a driver CD with the PC when you got it did you?

You really need to know what motherboard you have to know exactly which drivers/software to download.

Everest tells you everything about your PC or belarc

If he just deleted files he may have left the shortcuts in the start menu. Have a look for realtek as there's a chance it will at least tell you what version you had.

btw everyone who ever got a computer went through the 'I just deleted some things to make some room" thing
