Had to reset computer & lost one of the toolbars which contained, amongst other things, the spellcheck icon.

I'd tried downloading Google toolbar but nothing happened.

Might want to pour yourself a glass of wine,DH is investigating.....

Have you got the add more buttons on your tool bar ?

grumpybum · 14/06/2008 22:16

I am assuming you can't just right click on the toolbar and select the correct 'bar' ??

Sawyer64 · 14/06/2008 22:20

Go to "View" then Toolbars in the drop down menu.

When you select Toolbars, you should see another Menu with "Google" on.

Click this to get your Google Toolbar back. HTH

Sorry, just been checking out the unfamiliar toobar - please pass on thanks to your DH Sawyer.

Can't find 'add more buttons' Wings & when I right click Grumpybum both Google and Yahoo toolbars are in muted grey and therefore not clickable.

Heated · 14/06/2008 22:23

Did think about dropping the blardy thing but it's DH's work one that I've 'adopted' as mine. The problem's arisen because it was reset.

DH says if "greyed out" try:

Uninstalling it.

Go to START SETTINGS CONTROL PANEL.

When you click this, a window opens with lots of icons, click the one that says ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS.

Scroll down until you find Google Toolbar, click on it, and then click remove.

Once its removed Reinstall it again.

Heated · 14/06/2008 22:32

This is the point I got to - have uninstalled and reinstalled - but it didn't work but at least it is the right thing to do as I wasn't sure - so tell your dh thanks.

Will try again. There must just be something really basic I'm not doing when setting it up.

If you don't get any joy....

Go to WWW.Microsoft./windows updates.

See if there is an update for your PC/Laptop

Install the updates,it may allow you to

Install the toolbar,as something may

have "corrupted" your Explorer.Good luck!

Heated · 15/06/2008 12:33

Thanks Sawyer.

Eventually dh managed to sort it out when he gave it his full attention - rather than half an eye from the Xbox - using system restore.
