my ds managed to throw ours across the slate floor this morning (when trying to take a photo for a fathers day present!) and has buggered up our camera totally so need to get a new one. DH will be v annoyed this camera has been broken so would like to buy one without mentioning the other one broke (iyswim!) so he will hopefully be happy to get a new camera as i break the news to him..
the last one we had was an olympus which was ok but not amazing.
Any advice welcome! Ta

I've got a panasonic Lumix camera (DMC fx12) Which I got for under £100 about 4 months ago, so it'll be cheaper now! It's got a Leica lens which is suberb for quality.

I find it perfect for me, the functions are all brilliant and easy to use, pictures are crystal clear and it can take mini movies which are a very good quality with good sound too! My dad's a photographer and reccommended it to me. (it's also tiny and black with metal casing so looks good too!)

Failing that, at work we've got the olympus non breakable ones which might do well in your house!!!

I've just paid £99 for a 12MP camera on Ebay, and there's a free 3MP camera thrown in.

OOh can I join in and ask whether the above suggestions have a rechargable battery pack thingy? or do you find ordinary batteries don't run out instantly?

TwoToTango · 15/06/2008 16:27

I use rechargeable batteries
