Reinstating wireless connection and internet on repaired laptop

Have just got repaired laptop back home and have tried to reinstate the wireless connection. I have a BT home hub and run an emac from it (from which I am sending this) and the laptop.

I was prompted on the laptop to enter the code so I have typed the WIreless key code from the home hub.

However the wireless connection on the laptop is showing limited or no connectivity but the signal strength is good.

When I click on repair ti says 'windows could not finish repairing the problem because the folowing action cannot be completed

Disabling the wireless network adapter.

Make sure your wireless network adapter is properly installed.

What is this? Would it have been removed when the new hard drive was installed?

Thanks anyone

It's not one of those laptops with a wireless on/off switch on the case is it?

Yes I think so but this is switched on.

The reason I know is because I just switched it off and it could find no wireless networks at all. So switiched it back on.

It is not an issue of finding the wireless network it seems to be the connectivity.

As well as the stuff about the network adapter it also says that the network did not assign a network address to the computer.

Does it work when you connect using the wire?

thanks but I realised what I had done was enter the wrong code no. the fusion code instead of the wireless network code.
