dh watched benidorm online and clicked on something to get windows xp free security thingy which now pops up at al times saying we have 100 viruses etc and to pay $large amount to have this anti virus xp package - im led to beleive its bogus but how the hell can i remove it and stop it popping up b4 i wrap it round my dh head.

ok im at work so will check when i get home tonight - it like windwos xp automatic updates then runs a virus checker and flashes up you have x no of viruses do you want to remove them now - if click yes gives option to spend $ ? to get it fixed arghhhhhhh

Try spybot or superantispyware

thanky i have spybot anyway so have just ran it, i reset my computers settings to the day before the insident and it has disappeared - phew!
