I have two files I need to make into PDF files. I can't work out how to do it- I have tried scanning the documents and saving them as PDF but it won't allow me to do it! One is Word and one Excel.

Please someone help!!

I use this great free bit of software called PDF995 which converts anything to pdf format. PDF995 comes up as one of the printer options when you go to print a document and creates it that way. You can get it here...www.pdf995.com/ Bit of a faff with advertising, but hell, it is free!

I have a programme called Publisher which allows you to save documents as PDFs. If all else fails, you can email me them and I'll convert them and fire them back if you like.

I have a piece of software called CutePDFWriter - you then go to print the document as normal, but choose the CutePDF logo instead of a printer, then save it as the filename you want.

I'm sure the software was free too?

Scootergrrrl is that MS Publisher or something different?

Scootergrrrl · 19/05/2008 18:09

It's the MS one - bloody brilliant it is!

Caz10 · 19/05/2008 19:22

OK I'm well impressed - use Publisher a lot but didn't know it could do that! Is it just a case of "save as" or something more complicated? off to investigate!

wingandprayer · 19/05/2008 19:40

Me too - love Publisher but can't find the pdf thing - how do you do it?

Scootergrrrl · 20/05/2008 11:55

It's in the file drop-down - publish file as PDF or XPS. Have fun playing!

we have office 2000 - doesn't seem to have that option - I was getting (sadly) quite excited there!

wingandprayer · 20/05/2008 13:45

Just found it! It's an add-in option when you have Office 2007, so have just set it up now. Whole new world awaits....

Caz10 · 20/05/2008 17:43

OMG have just realised, we have Office 2000 that is so old now isn't it?
