Advice on where to buy a good, basic laptop?

Can anyone offer advice on where to buy a good, basic laptop? We only really need it to send email, use the web, itunes, store photos, do some word processing, etc, but want something reliable and not slow as molasses. Any suggestions about a good model would also be welcome. Our budget is around £300-350, but there's flexibility there.

Thanks!!

I rate Toshiba laptops, but if my cashback doesn't turn up soon I might change my mind.

NOTE: that link shows you prices after cashback.

Some of those laptops come with XP recovery disks, so you don't have to have Vista.

This machine has created quite a stir recently.

My Toshiba cashback finally turned up. It took exactly 4 weeks.
