Can anyone recommend a first mouse?

We want to get a mouse for our dd to use - i have seen ones in the library with a big ball - any ideas?

Are you thinking of trackballs? There are a few here.

Glad you like them. I looked at the prices and winced, but if they're right for you, that's great.

I can't say I've used any of those trackballs myself.

How old is dd?

Tbh, both ds1 and ds2 were able to use a normal mouse from about the age of 2.5/3, so no real need to buy anything special.

DS uses a mouse okay right now (mostly for paintbrush).

I'd recommend a Microsoft mouse. I've got one, and it's solidly built, and has given me no problems at all (unlike their software...)

VERY STRONGLY recommend a tracker ball.

It makes RSI much less likely.

Mice are a bit of a menace as they encourage sawing motions of the arm....
