Just a quick question ? I have to be quick because my pc keeps crashing out of the internet. Why does my wireless network connection say that my signal strength is ?very low?? What could be causing this?

is it always like that ? Usually this is when something is blocking the signal - see if you can work out if there is anything different between the pc's antenna and the wireless server.

It has been like this more recently having previously been reliable.

Have had 2 problems with BT line which have apparently been repaired (well certainly the phone gets a dialling tone now)....during the time the phone line was down we couldn't use broadband at all and now it is shaky and my laptop no longer manages to connect to internet at all (although upstairs pc does - with very low signal strength)

can you go through your ISP and get them to check it ?

The line quality should not affect signal strength at all.

I would suggest adjusting the aerials on the wireless base station, changing it's position or changing the channel.
