8GB or 16GB Apple mac

Hello Mumsnet - I get a bit confused with computer things - I need to upgrade and want to buy a new MacBook Air. Does it matter if I get 8GB or 16GB? I use it for emails and excel and documents and YouTube. No gaming for example. Many thanks for any help you might give.

8 will be plenty for your usage and also look at Apple refurbs, as unlike new they come with a years warranty.

I also buy mine new from John Lewis as you get the warranty.
