I posted ages ago with the same dilemma and I still own the same phone now a year on
😆 I'm getting on my wick, it's a ridiculous indecisive pastime looking at specs, countless YouTube videos explaining things that that shouldn't even matter.

Under £400

Not huge.

No Google pixels.

No iPhones

I'd love some user experiences if you've got time.

Thanks

I have this and it's great, love the headphone jack!

Ikr! I wasn't quite ready to give it up. Will definitely be sad to upgrade when the time comes because I think (all) the phones are bluetooth now, and it's nice to still have the option Smile

Get a Fairphone. Easy to get parts and repair yourself, everything works well, and no guilty conscience over child labour or conflict region minerals.

@Tcateh

I have had 3 OnePlus phones and cannot recommend them enough. Massive battery life, no bloatware, very quick charging (0-100% in half an hour) and my DH has just bought this one and is really pleased with it. Operating system is Oxygen OS14 and I think they are giving away some freebies with it at the moment. £299

Mine is a few years old now and is Xiaomi Note 10. I also had Huawei previously, and I didn't want to get another one due to the Google issue.

I had no problems moving over from Huawei to Xiaomi, they are very similar to use.

I just bought a sim free Samsung s23 which uses Android. It's last year's model but that makes it much more affordable instead of shelling out over £800 for this year's model, I bloody love it, not huge either same size as a standard iphone. Camera knocks socks off iPhone too!

lolaran · 12/10/2024 15:18

DH has the Samsung S22 which he bought this year, that's really good too. In fact I can't see much difference from my S23!

So many helpful responses thankyou so much.

Yep I got myself a pixel 7a and i didn't get on with the interface.
I don't know enough about this to tell you why tho.😆 I sold it on and went back to this Huawei a few weeks ago.

Got my notebook out.

By this a mean a lovely spiral bound one with paper. Plus Bic ballpoint pen.

Happy days.

If you struggled with the gesture navigation on a pixel you can put the standard three buttons back at the bottom in system settings, navigation options. The gesture navigation is frustrating.
