Farking Flash player hassles - is it me?

I keep finding things on youtube, facebook etc that instruct me to download the newset version of Adobe Flashplayer. I must have downloaded the bastard thing about 20 times but it never seems to actually work. (always says, installation successful). How to I get it to open and run. I have a new-last-year computer with WIndows Vista.

Are you the only person who uses your computer? - because if you are not logged on as an administrator, installation will probably not work.

I'm the only person who logs onto this computer and it's not networked (DS' dad uses it but uses my password). Other updates (Adobe Acrobat etc) have worked fine.

I assume you are an administrator then, so I'm not sure what the problem would be, but it's a common enough problem for Adobe to have a page about it - have you seen it?

I am having the same problem madamez.
Downloaded it several times and still not working, also using new computer on vista and logged on as administrator.

I don't actually understad the 'administrator' bit - this is my own home laptop I'm talking about.

With Windows XP etc user can be in one of several classes. If you're the only user you probably ARE in the administrator class. Other classes are useful for kids etc to use cos they can be restricted in what they do.

If you go to Control Panel - Usr Accounts. You should see your computer logon name with administrator under it.

As for Flash my usual method with things like that is to uninstall it and start again.
