How do I get rid of windows messenger?

If I can't delete it then I'd like to at least stop it opening every time I log on. DD has been using it, but when I log in it comes up as well, complete with all the various comments from her friends. She's not bothered about using it any more, so I'd really like to delete it entirely if that's possible. Does anyone know how? thanks.

Have you tried going into control panel and add & remove to see if you can delete it from there?

If you cannot unstall it, just delete all your cookies to stop it signing in automatically.

If you run 'Add Remove programs' in Control Panel you can on the left choose 'Add Remove Windows Components'
you will find Windows Messenger at the bottom of the list and can untick it.
