Do I switch my router off???

May sound like a stupid Q, but I have just left the world of modems behind and now have a router on an 8Meg LLU service.

Do I switch off the router or not? I think I read something about it training itself with the exchange. Will it have to retrain if I switch it off?

Answers on a postcard ASAP please...I want to go to bed

We don't switch ours off. Is yours password protected by the way?

For now, leave it on and go to bed.

I always turn ours off at bedtime - I think it needs its sleep (and I don't like sleeping in the room with it on - I think it may attack my brain)

If you have just joined an ISP most people say you ought to leave it on because of the 'training' thing at least for the first couple of weeks, but after that it's up to you.

Also some (not all) find it takes time to connect properly in the morning.

I have to leave mine on because one of my PCs works through the night

It should be protected...the instructions say it has inbuilt security and I havn't checked any further than that.

We have just joined a new ISP
