internet query, please help me!

Hi. I have an apple mac. OH changed things around and I deleted the configuration, username, password etc couple of days ago and it wouldn't work. He works away all week so is no help!

Anyway I followed the instructions to enter the configuration which is what I was stuck on as had password etc written down and it has now alloed me online. This is what the box says that you have to click connect.....

Configuration
Service provider
account name
password

Connect.

I am worrying that I will be connected to something that is wrong , is this likey? After all I had to enter service provider username and passowrd so I think it is unlikely. (sorry panicking abit!)

It sounds really unlikely you could be connected to the wrong thing. You are online with this computer now, right? So all the details must be right - if you put in the wrong service provider, for example, it wouldn't accept your account name and password, surely?

yes I am online now, I was worryong that I had connected to something charging me god knows how much per minute!

Yes that's what I thought. I did put in wrong details a couple of times and it didn't accepted them so wouldn't connect me but then I followed the network diagnostic (?) and it made me fill out all the details but I stopped when it asked me if I used a something modem and closed it down and then tried to connect and it worked, by that point I had put in the correct details. Im sure it's fine otherwise it wouldn't let me connect.
