How do I (or can I?) transfer music from an ipod onto my mac itunes? (G5)

oh, am desperate to know this, really hope someone comes up with the answer (don't want to lose all the tunes on my old ipod either)

IIRC they make it difficult to do this because of the possibility of "stealing" music - ie you could move all the songs off your mate's ipod onto your mac, and then from there onto your own ipod, they don't want to encourage this sort of thing

But I think there is a way round it if you are technically minded. Hope someone is less clueless than me cos I'd be interested too.

(btw I'm not suggesting you are trying to do anything illegal, but I think that is why they want to make it tricky)

I have used iPod rip successfully for the DC's when they have chanaged their comnputers

I have just successfully moved my old itunes onto a new pc using the apple ipod guide here I used my ipod as a hard drive. It's very simple to do, all artwork etc is also transferred.
