Blocked by Instagram, unable to appeal

Two weeks ago my Instagram account was blocked, it said for breaking their guidelines but I never post or write anything on my page at all, and I only follow innocuous accounts, nothing in any way controversial.

I have tried to appeal through the page but it keeps saying it will send a code to my mobile phone which never arrives, it then says I have to wait 24 hours before requesting another code. This has been happening every day now.

I have tried emailing customer services for help but days later there has been no response from them.

Could anyone with similar experience of being blocked please advise me about anything else I can try?

The same thing has just happened to me! I have never posted anything on my account on IG and mainly follow sewing and knitting accounts so I'm at a loss to see how I've breached their guidelines.

Thanks for replying and so sorry this happened to you aswell. It's really strange and random, and almost unbelievable there it seems impossible to be able to contact Instagram to get it sorted out.

Maybe it's because you don't post? I'm pretty sure they did this in 2020 where any accounts don't get used it's classed as spam and they get deleted?

Yes I think thats it too. We have a dummy account for work and have to post something every now and then to keep it active.

Have had this recently on both my accounts. But I did get a code and got them both reinstated

Create a new account using another email address. Simples.

I did actually do this, and unbelievably after two days I got blocked again with the same message appearing. So not so simples.

Are you sure your account hasn't been compronised and they have posted scam type posts? They may have also ch aged your mobile number hence you not receiving the code.

Do you have Facebook? They’re linked, you may be able to get in through your Facebook account.

Yes, I had a home reno insta account with 2.5k followers when I got deleted for breaching the guidelines with no detail. I was gutted, I appealed but nothing. Set up a new one, got upto 500 followers and my old one was suddenly reopened again. No idea why? I don't post on it anymore as we've paused the reno for a bit.
I have new account for my weight loss now.

I'm sorry this has happened to you and hope they may actually have a human review it and you get it back.
