Whatsapp suddenly stopped working in car

I’ve got Apple car play and have been sending and reading messages from WA for over a year with no problem.
Suddenly, although WA is still visible , when I try to send a new message it says “there’s a problem: please try later”

WA themselves are being no help so far.
Would anyone here be able to offer a solution?

Unsync your phone from apple carplay. Then sync it again, it should work.
