I am trying to transfer historic emails from old blueyonder email account to gmail. Have been recommended to use thunderbird but I cant get into blueyonder settings. virgin seem to make it as hard as possible to transfer information. I would be extremely grateful if anyone can help me. I am hopeless at technology hence why I havent moved from blueyonder sooner. thank you

Thank you. I was told to use thunderbird but I cant get into blueyonder settings. It has taken hours just to do contacts. I know why I have put off moving for so many years as it is designed to prevent you.

I know this works on the Mac OS email client, so it's probably worth trying on windows.

  1. Add both email accounts "A" and "B" to the windows email client application.
  2. Copy the emails from account "A", and paste into Account "B" (perhaps test with one first :-)
  3. Verify that the emails really have copied to the mail server, by logging into account "B" via the webmail client, or a completely different computer.
