accessing internet banking on desk top but not i pad

my elderly mum used to be able to access for her online banking on her i pad.
Suddenly, it's not working but we can still access it all via a desk top computer so we know all her log in details are correct.

Any ideas as to why this might be?

Don’t want to worry you but my mum used to access hers in the laptop only (well I did for her)

some thieving bastard managed to set up the app on their own phone and take 3k from her account. The Halifax returned it but wouldn’t say how it happened.

ring the bank and check the account t hasn’t been set up on a new device and it’s all intact and then ask why it might not be working any longer.

hope it’s nothing x

sorry to hear that about your mum. I've tried accessing the online help thingy when logged on at the computer but we can't get past the flipping Chatbot thingy. I'll try again tonight when it might be quieter and an actual human being might be available.

Just a couple of thoughts.
Go to Settings, scroll down to the bank app, open it and see if any of the options have been turned off.
The app may be corrupted, it does happen, delete it and then download it again.
Not saying they will work, but give it some thought. Good luck.

Can you give more detail as to the issue, ideally your steps and any messages observed?

For example

  1. The iPad is connected to the internet, as I can use the browser.
  2. I lunch the banking application
  3. I enter the credentials that I am confident are correct
  4. I observe the following message...

How old is the ipad? Some apps may not be supported or get updates on older models
Check for updates too if its a newer model

Thanks for all the tips. I’ll see DM tomorrow (with her iPad).
It’s been working fine for years; very strange that it’s suddenly stopped 🤔

I would love to help but I need more information, "suddenly stopped" could mean many things!

If the ipad is years old then it could just be that the app is no longer supported with updates

Apologies for tardy update.
Turns out it was an issue with the bank itself, not DM's ipad.
