Am looking on ebay but just keep getting lost

Need one for under a tenner prefrably!

Just google it - I found loads when I needed to replace my power cord. Amazon sometimes sells stuff like that too.

what does the connector look like??

Is it

1 - a figure of 8?

or

2 - 3 circles that look like Mickey Mouse?

These are available pretty much everywhere

I get all my chargers from Ebay.

Is it just the power cord you need, or the transformer itself?

OD, the number 2 you have described is known as a trefoil. I think there is another 3 terminal plug, with them all in a straight line.

My compaq presario has a standard trefoil going into the transformer, but the bit going into the laptop is different from most laptops I've seen - it's this shape (), with 3 holes in. I tried to get a spare when I first got the laptop so I could leave one at work, but I was quoted £53 by HP/compaq & they didn't even have one anyway.
