Could possibly be a faulty charger
The charger might not be powerful enough to charge your computer. A charger in my house charges one laptop, but not the others.

Replacd the charger yesterday

It does charge - but only when I wedge the connection to hold it tight

Sounds like your connecting bit has come loose from the mother board, needs soldering (dh's has done this)
Local pc repair shop should be able to fix it for you

They said it would have to be sent off & it would cost £120 and take a week

It was the week that upset me the most

OK another company will take it apart for £20 and if it can be fixed it will cost another £30 - so that is a bit better

it is a very simple job.. even if they have to replace the connector these cost pence... make sure the 'company' that you are selecting offers some guarantee on their work.. also look out for the 'it was actually something more major and will now cost £100" after they open the box..

This is a simple fix and £30 is a fair price.. anymore and you are being ripped off

Fingers crossed
