quick! am charging my mp3 off the computer - will it keep charging if I turn the computer off?

depends on the PC.. some modern computers (very modern) support USB power when the PC's operating system is shutdown...

..but 99.99% of PC's will shotdown all power when the OS is shutdown (even when hybernating)..

So just turn the monitor off and leave your device connected...

You can buy generic USB device chargers that plug into the mains.. these just have 2 x USB interfaces and you can plug most mobile, ipod and other devices in to charge

Odad what is OS? also I thought you had to shut down the puter before turning monitor off?

and ta for info re chargers we can plug into mains - never thought of looking for one of those - but could be a good idea.

oh - just thought - OS must be operating system!

(makes mental note... must spend more time on geeky board to become more puter literate!)
