I've posted this in Chat too but thought I'd post in here as well.

I'm so so upset.

Basically for some fucking stupid reason I accidentally deleted the Samsung notes app from my phone and the notes weren't backed up. I had some really really important, irretrievable information on there. I don't even have a Samsung backup account because I've always used Google drive etc, so the Samsung notes didn't back up to Google.

Obviously I've downloaded the Samsung notes app again and there's nothing there.

Have these notes been deleted forever? Is there any way at all they can be recovered? Please help, I genuinely cannot stop crying.

I'm as far from a tech wizard as you can imagine and I never used a Samsung phone.

But, ages ago I used to have the Notes app on my iPhone. This was moved from phone to phone as I upgraded phones.
Somehow, the notes were also showing in a Notes email folder in Outlook for the email account I had associated with my Apple ID. No idea how or why, it just happened automatically. This email account was set up in Emails on the phone and I could see this email folder when looking at my email account on other devices too. I had other email accounts in Emails as well but this folder was magically created under this one email address. It must have been linked to my Apple ID. No cloud backups whatsoever because I didn't want that. Deleting the Notes app did not delete the email folder.
This was ages ago, no idea how it worked but there might be a similar setup with your phone?

Thanks, I'll try this. I tried a different recovery software called Recuva but it only seemed to recover my deleted photos and videos, nothing else. Will let you know if I have any success.

I can't help directly but....

How important was this info? It may be recoverable by a forensic data recovery service... Will depend on the phone as well, some of the newer Samsungs a highly encrypted.

Prices are likely to be £500+ and for the best chances of success, id turn the device off to prevent the erased data from being overwritten.
