How to share excel budget so we can both view and update?

We have set up a budget which includes recording spending and monitoring our accounts throughout the month.
Rather than having to use my laptop to update it each time, how can we save it somewhere so we can both edit the same live file?
Is iCloud suitable? My phone and laptop aren't Apple, if that makes a difference.😊

You could set up a Teams channel and share it on there.

Or use Google Sheets - same type of application but allows real time sharing and updating.

Google docs works

https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-365/onedrive/onedrive-for-business

Or use Google Sheets rather than Excel - collaboration is easier but you may loose some functionality (macros aren't supported, for example).

Use Google sheets.

HaddawayAndShite · 04/01/2023 08:38

Google Sheets / Docs.

YNAB. Life-changing and brilliant.

Or if you want to keep it excel out in on OneDrive and then share with the other person (send them the share link)

SmartWatch · 04/01/2023 08:43

Put it on OneDrive

PuppyMonkey · 04/01/2023 08:46

I’ve used Google docs/sheets for this and it does the job perfectly.

Ooh thanks all. DH said about One Drive and I'd looked at Teams info earlier but wasn't sure if we'd be breaking company rules by having a teams or One Drive for personal use as I wasn't sure if these are linked to your company server or not.
I'll have a look at all the suggestions and see which one I can get my head around best.😁

a bit old skool but you could use Dropbox

CatNamedEaster · 04/01/2023 20:34

Well if old skool means simpler for a peri-meno brain to deal with then that might be an option. I'll have a look at that too.

Thanks all.
