Frozen keyboard and mouse!

Hi, I'm using an hp laptop and it crashed last night. i have been trying to open it all day, and I can get to the startup page, but my keyboard is frozen, as is the left hand click mouse button, the right one is working, but I've discovered is not much use! I REALLY need this computer for work and to stay sane in the house all day with 5 month old baby, PLEASE help!

Only thing I can think of, is to try to do a full reboot.

Try the following: Disconnect from power supply. Remove battery. Leave for a few minutes, then reassemble. With luck the laptop will have lost all power, and once power is enabled again, it will start the boot sequence. Then cross your fingers and hope that during boot it finds the keyboard.

if this does not work.. then the final option is to pull the motherboard battery for 30 seconds to reset the BIOS.. this normally resolves issue if the previous solution does not work
