Genuine Apple Pencil or fake?

Bought my daughter an iPad for her birthday and wondering which pencil / stylus to buy. She wants it for artwork but is only 12 so don't know whether to get a genuine Apple pencil or a cheaper stylus.

For a first stylus an Apple Pencil is quite an expensive option for a 12 year old IMO. I would look at cheaper alternatives and then upgrade later if they really take to it.

DD has this one and it's been fab, half the price of Apple too. It's accurate, holds charge well and has lasted well.

Thanks both! I have the option of both to my mother in law and she chose the Apple Pencil. Dd is very into editing and drawing on her phone so pretty sure this will be an investment.
