Clock going funny

The clock on my PC keeps showing the wrong time when I boot it up in the morning. Yesterday it was about 90 minutes out; today about 6 hours. I'm using Windows XP.

Any ideas what might be causing this?
Wibbly wobbly timey-wimey?

Bios battery flat...

I have asked some other helpful people and they say the battery on my motherboard, a CR2032. Same thing?

And once I buy it, is it easy to fit?

Yep. The battery generally just clips out. Worth opening the computer case and taking a look first though.

Nice and easy.. the old one should just pop out of its holder when the metal clip is tensioned.. and the new one will just pop back in...

FYI - remove power lead before doing this to be safe

Done it now!
Seems OK.

Although today, at boot-up I got a beep and a screen I've not seen before - relating to the battery I suppose - which said that the date and time were not set. Even though they were. I've done f1 Setup, set the time and date and F10 to save. That should be enough, surely?

The first time I forgot to do the date in American style - 01/28/08 and not 28/01/08 - and so it kept defaulting to 01/01/08 thinking that was what I meant!

Bumping again in case anyone has a clue....
