Worth upgrading from an iPhone 11?

I currently have an iPhone 11 on which the contract is about to end. I am generally happy with it and have no performance issues/battery problems etc. I can go onto a sim-only deal which is fine and will save me some money.

However, I can afford to upgrade and see that the new iPhone 14 is due out soon. I do use my phone a lot and enjoy playing with new technology. Is there a big enough difference between the 11 and the 14 to make it worth upgrading? I know when I got this phone I noticed next to no difference between that and the last iPhone I had. I have had android phones before and always hate them so not really interesting in switching to a Samsung etc.

Looking through that list I can’t see anything much that would make a big difference to me. Am I missing something?

Speed, battery life, colour and clarity of screen, ability to have 5g, better camera?

I went from a 11 to a 12pro and it was noticeably better. I've just pre ordered the 14pro and am expecting to notice that difference too.

Unless things jump out to you, then you’re probably not missing anything that’s going to make a real difference to you.

If you go from a ‘normal’ to a newer pro/max then you get the latest things such as better optical zoom or more megapixels. On my last upgrade it was the optical zoom that tipped the balance for me. But if you’re not photo mad then you won’t care much about that

£1,099 for a phone is an obscene amount of my money! Apple products are just not worth it, you're just paying for the fancy name and kudos. I know you said not android but I'd look at google pixel, just got the 6a and I bet it does most things that the iPhone 12 does. (I don't like Samsung either btw)

This was really useful. I have an 11pro and can't seem much difference in the 14, so will stick with a sun only deal for a while
