Lost mobile phone

My dp lost his mobile today we checked the carparks we had been in but it was not there he is now on the phone to his network and i just wondered if anyone knows of any other ways of traking a phone?

if it is turned on then your network operative should be able to track it although they are not obliged to. if they dont you could have a block put on it so no-one else can use it should it be found. is it a contract phone or pay as you go?

Thanks for your reply, he asked the network if they could track it and they said they had no way of doing so.

However I did find the phone this morning just before he started ringing all of the shops we visited so thanks for your help WildCats much appreciated.
