How bizarre - can type the number 9 but can't make it type a bracket. Can do 0 and the corresponding ). Any thoughts please - its quite limiting - especially when wanting to write a program!

Do you use the same shift button for both brackets? The left hand shift button on my laptop doesn't work properly, so I have that problem sometimes. Can you pull the shift keys off and give them a little clean?

LOL! Well theoretically, if you're typing properly, with both hands, it'll be the right hand one for both ( and )!
