Help! New Motorola phone won't install apps

Hi. I have a new Motorola Edge Lite. It has installed all the google apps and facebook and messenger but I just can't get it to install any other apps. I need one particular app for work so set that going before bed last night and it still hadn't installed by this morning. I can't install Whatsapp or RingGo or anything without the wheel of doom going around for years. I'm going to have to run two phones tomorrow as will need to use the old one to access the work app that I need. Help! Surely it shouldn't be taking days to install apps.

Is it set to only download apps over WiFi?

Are you connected to wifi?

If you open the play store, are you logged into a google account? It should have your initial top right on the menu. If you click that and then manage apps, is there a huge list of updates all queued up (often happens with new phones...)

Failing all of those things, it may be worth doing a full factory reset on the phone, and then starting set up again.

Finally, any chance it thinks you're in Russia and you're being blocked?
