Swapping iPhones help

Could someone help please.

My mum and I want to swap iPhones as mine is easier for her to use.

Her phone is locked to a different provider, so my SIM card won't work in her phone. They are both pay as you go, not contract.

I think the simplest thing to do is for me to just use her SIM card and vice versa (and tell all our contacts we have changed numbers).

But how do I get all her photos and contacts etc from her phone to mine and vice versa, and then clear them from the original phone?

Please could someone talk through the process assuming I don't know anything at all.

Could you not just pay to have the phone unlocked? Or is it free nowadays?

Who would I pay? And how would I go about it?

Local phone repair shops for phone computer tech etc can do it for £20. But that could invalidate your warranty.

I’d phone the provider first, like vodaphone or EE or whoever you are each with, and ask them. It could be free! It should be once you are out of contract.

Definitely out of contract. I'll get her to call the provider, then, that makes things simpler!
