Can someone help with an iPhone 12 question?

So I have just upgraded. My old phone, when I sent an iMessage if the other person had read receipts on, I could see the time that the other person read the message. On the new phone it just says read, no time. Is this correct? Is there no way to see the time read? Before anyone jumps on, no of course I don’t ‘need’ to know, I’m wondering as it helps with my DC

try clicking on the imessage and swiping to the left that usually shows the time

If you hold the full screen and swipe it to the left, a list of times for the messages comes up, however I don't know if that's a sent or read message.

Hmm that’s unusual. Was the message sent today (since 00:01)?

No the message was sent yesterday and read today

Do you have read receipts turned on in settings?

And I assume the other person also has to have it turned it on, but I'm not sure

No mine aren’t switched on but they weren’t on my old phone so that makes no difference as that just means other people aren’t told when I have read them?

Ok so what is strange, someone else with an iPhone, this morning I can see the time messages are read… so I don’t understand what’s going on with the other phone!

The utter person has probably turned off the ability. I have turned it off on WhatsApp.

@itwasntaparty no because it says read… just no time.. If you turn off read receipts it just says delivered. Anyway no big deal as I said, a message I sent to someone else this morning has a time on when it was read, my question was as I have a new phone, if it was an iPhone 12 thing you can’t have the read time but obviously I can now see it isn’t!
