How to silence a contact on iPhone?

I’ve worked out hoe to silence a particular contacts texts, but not their incoming calls.

Is there anyway if doing this without blocking then or without going through quite a convoluted process of downloading a ’silent ringtone’ and allocating it to that contact??

If you go to contacts, then click on the contact you want, then edit at top right corner. Click on ringtone and there should be the option of 'none'

Actually ignore that. The none only shows in the text tone bit which is very strange. Hmmmm will see if I can find another way.

Yeah, I don’t think it’s very straightforward, but I am a bit of a tech Luddite.
