Hi. I'm not sure this is possible.

I have a cd with wedding photos plus another with a video.

Can I buy a separate appliance that will connect to a smart tv or Google laptop so that I can view them please.

Thanks.

A standard DVD player should plug into the smart TV.

Yes but the DVD will only work if it's formatted as a DVD to watch, otherwise it's a data disc.

Do you have a computer/laptop? You could get a USB DVD drive. Or see if you know anyone with a computer with a DVD drive who can get the files off the disc to email to you.

I bought a dvd/video player from a charity shop and a separate converter to convert the video to CD.. It was about £15 for the player. Of course even that's outdated now but I bought a dvd player recently as new laptops don't play CDs/DVDs anymore... All those Disney DVDs to watch with future Grandchildren! X

I'm sure the last DVD player I had was quite happy to display photos on a data DVD. I couldn't see any reason why they wouldn't play MP4 video as well, but Googling to check, it seems most don't, so that's a bad assumption on my part.
