How do I teach myself WordPress?

I've sort of been landed with the job of keeping up our company website, mainly because I'm the best of a bad bunch when it comes to this sort of thing. It's hosted on WordPress.

How do I learn what to do?

I didn't want this responsibility but now it's mine I want to do it right. Nothing annoys me more than out of date websites advertising events from last month.

When I googled Teach Myself WordPress I got a million options ranging in price from free to £1,800.

Can anyone suggest a reputable online training course? Happy to pay. I could do with something that really starts with the basics.
